Friday, May 25, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
ADAN DEHOYOS, DOB: 7/24/1988, of 3140 M&W Circle, Muscatine, pleaded guilty to Arson in the Second Degree, a class "C" felony, and Burglary in the Third Degree, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charges against DEHOYOS stemmed from a December 10, 2011, incident in which he set a motor vehicle on fire in the 100 block of Neidig Avenue. The incident was investigated by the Muscatine Police Department and Muscatine Fire Department.
The Court suspended a prison term of not to exceed ten years on the arson charge and imposed a sentence of 180 days jail on the burglary charge.
DANIEL LEWIS, DOB: 7/2/1965, formerly of 2002 Oneida Ave., Muscatine, was sentenced following guilty pleas to Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree.
The charges against LEWIS were based upon three separate investigations. In the first he had been involved in the manufacture of methamphetamine. This case was investigated by the Muscatine County Drug Task Force. The second case involved the theft of copper piping and wiring from unoccupied homes. The third involved the theft of a spool of copper wire. These two cases were investigated by the Muscatine Police Department.
The Court imposed prison sentences on all counts. The total term of incarceration was for a term not to exceed 24 years. LEWIS must serve one-third the maximum term before being eligible for parole consideration.
