Today, July 14, 2017, in Muscatine County District Court MARCO IMANUEL MARTINEZ, 18, of Muscatine, was sentenced after being found guilty at a jury trial of criminal mischief in the second degree. Evidence at trial showed that MARTINEZ had fired a handgun into a residence in rural Muscatine County from a moving automobile. One bullet passed through the master bedroom of the residence. No one was injured during the incident.
The Court cited the nature of the offense conduct in imposing a prison sentence for a term of not to exceed five years. MARTINEZ remains in the Muscatine County Jail awaiting disposition of other charges before he begins serving his prison sentence.
The case was investigated by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office and the Muscatine Police Department.
