Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Muscatine County District Court:
AQUILES ALVARADO, DOB: 11/20/1948, of Muscatine, was sentenced following his conviction by jury trial for two counts of Lascivious Acts with a Child. The Court imposed concurred prison sentences for a total term of not to exceed ten years. In addition the Court ordered that the defendant shall be on supervised release as if on parole for the remainder of his life once he completes his prison sentence. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
ALVARADO was found guilty after a three day jury trial in February. The case was investigated by the Muscatine Police Department. Evidence at trial showed that the defendant fondled the genitals of a child under the age of 14 on two occasions.
