Today, April 30, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
ALLEN DEAN SAUER, DOB: 7/15/1974, formerly of 605 W. 3rd St., Muscatine, pleaded guilty to Violation of Sex Offender Registry Requirements, an aggravated misdemeanor.
SAUER was arrested by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Department after an investigation revealed that he had failed to update his registration information with the Sheriff in January, 2012. Due to SAUER's prior conviction for Attempted Enticement of Minor he is required to update his information on a quarterly basis.
SAUER will be sentenced at a later date.

Guilty plea in meth delivery case
Today, April 30, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
LACY DAWN GODDARD, DOB: 9/8/1981, of 1403 Oregon St., Muscatine, pleaded guilty to two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, each a class "C" felony.
GODDARD was arrested by the Muscatine County Drug Task Force in connection with an investigation in which she sold methamphetamine on two separate occasions the fall of 2011 to a confidential source working under the direction of the Muscatine County Drug Task Force.
She will be sentenced June 8, 2012, at 9:15 a.m. She remains in custody in the Muscatine County Jail pending sentencing.

Man sentenced for forgery and theft
Today, April 27, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
JACOB SKIPTON, DOB: 8/22/1987, of 311 South 4th Street, Wapello, was sentenced for Theft in the Second Degree and two counts of Forgery. The Court granted a deferred judgment and placed the defendant on probation.
Investigation by the West Liberty Police Department showed that SKIPTON had stolen checks and passed them at a business.
Prison sentence for meth manufacture
Today, April 27, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
JASON GARRETT, DOB: 9/18/1975, 605 E. 8th St., Muscatine, was sentenced for Manufacture of a Controlled Substance and Theft in the Third Degree. He received concurrent sentences of incarceration of ten and two years respectively.
GARRETT was arrested by the Muscatine County Drug Task Force after an investigation into a shoplifting incident in which GARRETT was found to be in possession of a plastic bottle containing methamphetamine manufacturing chemicals.
Forty year prison sentence for sexual abuse of a child
Today, April 27, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
JACK JOSHUA MATHIS, DOB: 7/28/1985, was sentenced for four counts of Lascivious Acts with a Child. The Court imposed consecutive prison terms for a total term of incarceration of not to exceed 40 years. In addition, the defendant will be placed on supervised release as if on parole for the remainder of his life after completing his sentence of incarceration. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Investigation by the Muscatine Police Department showed that MATHIS had sexually abused a five year old girl by forcing her to perform sex acts upon him.
The defendant had been in jail since his arrest on November 22, 2011. He will be transported to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale to commence his sentence.

Muscatine man sentenced for operating while intoxicated and domestic abuse
Today, April 20, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:
ROBERT STEVEN BURKE, III, DOB: 12/24/1971, of 1410 E. 5th Street, Muscatine was sentenced for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, third offense and Domestic Abuse Assault, second offense. The Court imposed consecutive prison terms of five and two years respectively. He was placed in the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections.
BURKE was arrested on the OWI charge September 11, 2011, by the Muscatine Police Department. He was operating a motor vehicle near the intersection of East Second Street and Mulberry Avenue when he was stopped by police for speeding. Subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated. He had been convicted of OWI twice in the previous 12 years.
The domestic abuse charge came from an incident at his residence on November 2, 2011, where he assaulted his wife. This incident was also investigated by the Muscatine Police Department.

HERIBERTO VALENZUELA, DOB: 1/8/1994, of 310 Burlington St., Conesville, was sentenced for the offense of Burglary in the Third Degree, a class "D" felony. The defendant was granted a deferred judgment and placed on probation. He will be required to complete programming at the Residential Correctional Facility in Davenport as a condition of probation.
VALENZUELA was arrested by the Conesville Police Department and the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office in connection with a residential burglary in Conesville. He was 17 years of age when the burglary occurred.
