Guilty verdict in jury trial for domestic abuse assault

Today, April 17, 2014, in Muscatine County District Court:

ESPERANZA CHESMORE, DOB: 8/15/1978, of Muscatine, was found guilty after a jury trial on the charge of Domestic Abuse Assault, an aggravated misdemeanor. Investigation by the Muscatine Police Department showed that CHESMORE brandished a knife at and threatened her husband. CHESMORE will be sentenced at a later date to be set by the Court.

Also today:

CODY MOUSTY, DOB: 9/12/1991, of Muscatine, pleaded guilty to five offenses from three separate prosecutions. The charges were two counts of Forgery, one count of Credit Card Fraud, one count of Theft in the Third Degree, and one count of Burglary in the Third Degree. The cases were investigated by the Muscatine Police Department and related to a long series of property-related criminal offenses. MOUSTY will be sentenced June 6, 2014, at 9:30 a.m.

Yesterday, April 16, 2014:

MELISSA VOGT, DOB: 2/8/1981, of Muscatine, pleaded guilty to two counts of Identity Theft and one count of Credit Card Fraud. Investigation by the Muscatine Police Department showed that she obtained a credit card account using another person's identity and then purchased merchandise with the credit card. She will be sentenced May 30, 2014, at 9:45 a.m.

JAMIE RICKEY, DOB: 5/6/1981, of Muscatine, pleaded guilty Possession of a Controlled Substance, Third Offense. Investigation by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office showed that he was in possession of methamphetamine while a passenger in a motor vehicle. RICKEY had two prior possession convictiones. He will be sentenced June 6, 2014, at 9:15 a.m.
