The prosecution of FLORES was the result of two separate investigations by the Muscatine Police Department. In the first, FLORES was discovered to have had sexual contact with an underage female. In the second, he was found to be in possession of a shotgun with a barrel which had been shortened.

In addition to his prison sentence FLORES will be on supervised release after completion of the term. The supervised release will be for the remainder of his life. He will also be required to register as a sex offender. FLORES had been on probation for a misdemeanor assault at the time of his crimes.
